deeFind Fall / Winter 2011 Look Book

They will escalate your blood pressure. They will raise your voice an octave. Make you blush, take your breath away, and convert you into a spectacle of feminine ferocity. Designed by the Einstein of Dierdre Wallace, deeFind shoes are truly one of a kind, combining the sensibilities of architecture, a head nod to the classically-modern platform sole, and drop-dead femininity. The website just launched last Monday and has already been sought after with a mighty thirst. deeFind will hit the runway this Sunday at the 2011 San Francisco Fashion Week alongside clothing designer Jakee Princeau. Plus, Shoes.tv inquired about deeFind for a front-page feature and video on their website, which will be airing later on this year. The deeFind Fall / Winter 2011 look book: designed by yours truly—aka—Sans Hype. My brother blud and photographer—Leo Docuyanan—shot the photos of this year’s Fall / Winter line of deeFind heels alongside my lovely friend and beast-y make up artist—Jenni Tay—on the face paint. Very proud to be part of such a fetching brand. Future’s bright. Better arm Dierdre & her team with stunners.

Okay, okay, okay. So I’ve been slipping on my blog game—but brutally—I’ve been busier than the President with matronly duties, music projects, next album, design career, and interviews, similar to this episode of Frame of Mind Vol. 1 | Part 4, featuring my good friend and superior lens—Amanda Lopez—facilitated and directed by my other good friend and talented photographer—John Coyne. This visually stunning document exhibits both artist’s unique vista points on life and drop-dead creativity. Affirmative: S’pretty lovely. Last Sunday, I had the distinct privilege of being shot in the same series for Vol. 2, at the Alamany Farmers Market near Bernal Heights. Keep your eyes peeled for that release in the future. Look Book for Winter / Spring 2011

RR's Prize for this month's contest

Julia Rhee and Jenny Ton are Retrofit Republic: “… a sustainable vintage store with a social impact.” That’s the blueprint of their identity. In a secret location on Haight street is where you’ll find this if-you-blink, you’ll-miss-it gem, stowed behind the facades iron gates & Victorian architecture. Ladies, this is your new favorite vintage boutique you’ve never heard of. Shoes, belts, handbags, gloves, jewelry, hats, coats, suites, dresses, et cetera…. Adore would be too vapid a description to reflect my feelings for this boutique and the incredibly dapper beasts behind RR. I had the privilege of grazing the threads by private invitation a couple months ago and became enamored by their sumptuous pieces. In addition to their super-lovely treasures, they also host contests, including this month’s: a vintage Poloroid camera. Oh, yeah, AND a portion of their proceeds will go to “under-resources communities and our environment.” Dream girls, indeed. Acquaint yo’self, here.

To The Sun: Propers 2011.

Reflecting on the past, reminiscing in the future. Not too much to say other than, damn: I exhibited my maternal lioness in augmented proportions, a lot of research informing the development of my written + visual craft, and listening to my bones. Most all of the above being informed by my sun.

For Christmas, sun straight marched himself to a bookstore and bought me three Dr. Seuss books (50th Anniversary Edition, too): The Sneetches (my favorite) & Other Stories, Green Eggs and Ham, and Horton Hears A Who! For most of us, this is just dope by default, but to a lyricist . . . s’prolly the quintessential gesture of, “Hey, motha-jumpa. I love you.”

Then recently, sun straight hipped me to bassist Jaco Pastorius. I wasn’t prepared to be seduced by such beautiful mathematics. Reminds me of my daddy and his Whirlitzer. What a lovely way to die, non?

So, to all of my planets who follow my craft & want to know where I’ve been at, you’re looking at it. Amidst these many hats that I wear, developing a stellar human is the most important job in my solar system. I’ve written about this before, but truly: two-thousand ten was the year of pure, galactic love as a mother and watching the fruit of your labor has got to be the best food. Still, the temple is building. Be patient, before ya pants get swollen. In the interim, propers to Special ‘K’, for being an amazing young human, none of a kind. <3. C’est tout!
